A Year of “New”

The best part about a New Year is that it always feels like a fresh start.  No matter what.  We turn the page, finish one calendar and start another.  We get a new planner, all blank and full of potential.  We try to start remembering to put the right year when we write the date, and if I’m lucky, I’ll have it by March.  2012 was in many ways a better year, and at the same time more sobering year, than I ever imagined.

A year full of moments I’ll treasure forever, new people that I now consider great friends, and tragedy that stopped us all in our tracks and made us take a closer look at everything, and everyone, around us.   2012, through the good and the unspeakable, gave me a new perspective I’ll never lose.  Nothing in life can be taken for granted. No experience, no moment, no person.   I’d like to believe I always knew that, but I just don’t think I see anything the same now.

May your 2013 be a year of “new”. New ideas. New connections. New challenges. New gratitude. New perspectives.  Because it is all of it that makes us who we are.

    • Thanks, Melissa. It’s been such a strange year and I’m ready to start new. I have even more goals set for myself next year – and feel even more determined to make them happen. I appreciate you reading and commenting. I enjoy your blog, so much and someday we must meet in person and talk about all things creativity! :)
      Happy New Year!

  2. Am reminded of when I rode my bike in the ‘woods’ behind our subdivision and discovered a path. Oh, the excitement and thrill of curiosity!
